Christine was running the training and she did a phenomenal job doing so. She was very open to any questions or concerns regarding their experience with the training, and made efforts to implement any new ideas that were brought up during one session, to the next. I was trained by Christine Martino-Fleming during my new hire training. We interacted for the duration of five weeks, totaling over 30 hours of contact, so I believe I can speak to her abilities as a trainer and a coach. One thing I immediately noticed about Christine was her passion for contributing to the development of clinical trainees. She was assiduously organized for each training session, and yet, consistently demonstrated an ability to be flexible in how the session's time was used. In this way, she reminded me of a jazz musician – someone who keeps 'in tune' with the band but has to learn to flex as the song shifts suddenly. For example, if the group or an individual trainee had a particular need to explore in the session (one that deviated slightly from the material), Christine was attentive to the concern and used it as an opportunity to both strengthen group cohesion and provide depth to the training outlined. I believe this quality is something that anyone would look for in any leader. Additionally, I was impressed with her ability to be appropriately humble and always make it 'about the group/trainee', despite her impressive background that I only learned of later. In sum, I believe Christine is a committed leader who demonstrates the ability to organize, support, and inspire individuals toward a higher degree of excellence in their professional and personal lives, and I would highly recommend her.
